Mystery Wine...

Greetings in wine
from a sun-kissed Sandyford Village!!

Many thanks to everyone
who came to our recent wine tasting!

We had a great time,
sampling the new vintages
of Hellbent South African wines.

Our special guest was ex-Ulster
and Agen rugby player
and South African citizen, Louis Ludik.

Many thanks to Louis
and Paul from United Wines.
You played a blinder lads!

The wines we tasted were:

(Whites)
Hellbent Sauvignon Blanc 2022 RRP18.99
(Stellenbosch)
Hellbent Chenin Blanc 2022 RRP18.99
(Stellenbosch)

(Reds)
Hellbent Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 RRP18.99
(Stellenbosch)
Hellbent Pinotage 2020 RRP18.99
(Stellenbosch)

Four very tasty wines,
really expressive of each grape variety
and the famous Stellenbosch wine region.

Everyone had their favourites,
mine were the Chenin Blanc
and the Cabernet...

Then we had a
"Mystery Wine" challenge...
to taste a wine blind,
and try to identify the grape,
the country and the vintage...

This time nobody struck gold,
and the Mystery Wine was...

...drum roll...

Yalumba Eden Valley Viognier 2018
RRP29.99 (Australia)

Some tasters went for Chardonnay,
which was a good call, as Viognier and
New World Chardonnay can share
some similar characteristics...

Roll on our next tasting
in a couple of weeks...

Opening Times at the moment:
From 3 to 8pm every day except Monday
